Destiny, a little girl with only 11 years of age was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Malignant Germ Cell tumorstage 3. Germ cell tumors arise in the ovaries (in girls), abdomen, thorax and inside the brain.

Germ cell tumors present as a solid mass and can be painful inside the ovaries.

This disease is treated in time and the symptoms are detected can have an 87% life expectancy, compared with other types of childhood cancer.

 That is why without thinking they took the decision to submit Destiny to a surgery and chemotherapy treatments to treat this disease. No matter the secondary risks such as the acidity of their hair, fatigue, a risk of infection, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite and diarrhea, Destiny proved to be courageous and enthusiastic to get ahead and overcome this disease.

It is important to know that the advances of science in this type of cancer are increasing, one of the studies is ACNS1123 a phase 2 clinical trial. This study is a therapeutic clinical trial. It means that you are made to learn about the treatment. The purpose of this phase 2 trial is to learn about the treatment and how it affects the body.

This clinical study could reduce the dose and area of ​​radiation therapy that has been used in germ cell tumors in the brain and spinal cord. The goal is to reduce the long-term problems of standard radiotherapy doses, which would increase the patient's long-term quality of life.
