Palforzia the new medication, about to Become the First FDA Approved for Food Allergy.

A possible new treatment for FDA approval is in progress, it is the Palforzia drug, this medication could be the hope of many people with food allergies around the world.
But what is it about?
This treatment is oral immunotherapy (ITO)is being practiced as an alternative that seeks the patient to reach food tolerance and thus improve the quality of life.
Palforzia is intended to be implemented in patients ages 4 to 17 that have been diagnosed with a food allergy. It would be a great hope for patients suffering from food allergies. One of the most common food allergies is peanut allergy.
"Estimated prevalence of PA was 1.25 million (2.2%) in 2017. Of these patients, ∼500K were diagnosed by allergists; ∼370K diagnosed by pediatricians and managed by allergists; and ∼380K diagnosed and managed by outside of allergists. Common comorbidities included eczema (63%) and asthma (61%); 35% of PA patients had additional food allergy. Annual incidence of PA in 1-year-olds increased, from an estimated 1.7% to 5.2% between 2001-2017 ". (Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, Volume 121, Issue 5, Supplement, November 2018, Page S13).
Although the drug called Palforzia has a long process, have completed Phase 3, the clinical trials continues in preparation for US approval by regulatory agencies. But the new medication for food allergies continue under the eye for health experts to provide patient safety.
