International Women’s Day Celebration

Stanford film society camera as witness, Women's Community Center and Women's Coalition, organized an event to celebrate the international women's day, last Friday, May 8 2019.
The sponsors of this activity, held a special lunch for more than 50 guests, with the assistance of some men as well.
The activity counted with the participation of Rosalie Roodf, President of Women's community center who said the following words: "I am very happy to share with you some inspirational short films for all of us on this special day, women who fought for social equality and racial, for the independence and leadership of all of us. " I also invite attendees to celebrate women's day on Saturday March 16 and collaborate with the non-profit organization Pant the Town purple.
The assistant to this event could enjoy short films such as:
Eleanor Roosevelt: Close To Home, Knock on Wood, Woman by Woman: New Hope for the Villages of India and When Abortion was Illegal: Untold Stories.
The Director and Producer of this latest film Dorothy Fadiman, has a nomination to the academy awards in the category of modern filmmaker.
The organizers of this event dressed in purple, this in support of women's suffrage and the movement for equal rights. This color was chosen in the 1978 decade in favor of the approval of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Emmeline Pethick, an activist, defines it this way: "The violet, color of the sovereigns, symbolizes the real blood that runs through the veins of each fighter for the right to vote, symbolizes their awareness of freedom and dignity."
For the next few days, the United National Association Film Festival, will carry out active activities in March in the towns of Palo Alto, San Francisco and San Jose at no cost.
